Alaskan cruise to Juneau

Patricia Patrick - More than a (retired) French teacher...

Recently retired Bartlett High School foreign language teacher Patricia Patrick (center) led a group of travelers to Belgium, France and Switzerland June 16-24. The group visited Brussels, Bruges, Amiens, Paris, Lausanne, Montreux and Gruyeres. Two highlights of the trip were dinner at the Eiffel Tower and traveling through the Alps to the area of Gruyeres where the group sampled cheese. Patrick, who travels with companies that organize educational student travel, has been taking student and adult groups to Europe since 1978. Nearly two decades of seven families gathering for vacation

Nearly 20 years ago, seven families began vacationing together in Orange Beach, AL. They recently gathered in Orange Beach for the wedding of Brent and Lisa (Sturzenbechera) Lyon of Olive Branch. Brent is the son of one of the seven families. Several individuals, including the bride and groom had already left for home when this picture was taken. The next occasion for the group will be the wedding of Casey and Bradley in August.

The Continental Divide

(From left) Ty, Carol Ann and Michael Young are pictured in front of the Continental Divide on June 28. The Young's are approx. 45 mins north of Pagosa Springs, Colorado where they went on vacation and to attend a Young family reunion.

Near completion - Ball's quest to visit all 50 states

Mike and Debra Ball of Bartlett are pictured during their visit to the Heceta Head Lighthouse near Florence, Oregon. Oregon is the 47th state visited on the Ball's quest to visit all 50 states.

Visiting the Niagara by the lake community

Lana and Ken Malone of Eads are pictured during a recent vacation trip to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. The couple discovered that even though the falls are close together, the American and Canadian falls are very different and noted "A side trip to the Niagara by the lake community was a pleasant addition" to their adventure.

Fun in Greece

(Above) Best friends and former high school classmates Josie Gelman (left) and Danielle Friedman have shared a desire to visit Greece for the past 16 years. Gelman, who relocated to Collierville 10 years ago and moved to Cordova two years ago, and Friedman of Studio City, California, decided it was time for their dream to become a reality in May. During their trip, the pair visited historical sites in Athens where they sampled souvlaki from a street vendor, visited the Temple of Zeus, the Parthenon at the Acropolis, the Poseidon and other attractions including the Olympic Stadium; visited Santorini and resided at the Homeric Poems. They are pictured while shopping in Fira. (Below) Danielle Friedman (left) and Josie Gelman are pictured at the Parthenon overlooking Athens from the Acropolis, currently being reconstructed.
